The oldest church of Alonte, it was cited in Relationes decimarum of 1297-1303 and stood in a difficult angle from the centre, on the fort, the mighty walls of which are still recognizable. The building dedicated to San Biagio since 1631 had been the parish church until 1800, when it was abandoned due to static problems. The new church had been built from 1868 onwards, according to the project of engineer Antonio Trevisan in the centre of the town, and then it was rebuilt in the mid-nineteenth century.
