In the early years of the eighteenth century the family Fracanzan asked Francesco Muttoni for a project of their villa, garden and outbuildings. All this was aimed at strengthening the image of the family, who in those years were among the richest families of Vicenza. The villa designed by the architect consists of a monumental baroque structure, with decorative elements linked with the Palladian architecture. Next to the main house there is a barn with twelve arches, which connects the house with the fourteenth-century buildings. The hillside amphitheatre, the ponds and the garden are spectacular. The first Italian female journalist, Elisabetta Caminer Turra lived in this villa, hosting there a literary salon.
